Woodtemple - Sorrow of the Wind albüm kritiği

Asla gerçekleşmeyen karanlık bir düş bu, sorgusuz ve harap bedenlerin içsel dünyalarındaki keşmekeşlik, anı yakalamaya uğraşma, çıkmaz bir yol olduğunu tüm çıplaklığınla bildiğin halde süreklenmeler ne uğrana!!

Aramath tarafından 1998 yılında kurulan Pagan metal projesi olan Woodtemple'ın bu yıl başında çıkardığı dördüncü albümü 'Sorrow of the Wind'  diğer albümlerle hemen hemen aynı sound'a sahip bir çalışma olarak göze çarpıyor,  intro ve outro'da dahil olmak üzere  6 parça yer almakta, açılış olan intro tüm albüm konsept'inin bir özeti niteliğinde, rüzgar  ve ormandaki yırtıcı kuş efekt'tiyle birlikte 'Rise the Horns Up to Battle' parçasına geçiş yapılıyor, efektler aynen bu şarkının girişinde de  devam etmekte, özellikle flüt'lü kısımlara bayıldım, 'The Shields Light' duyguları aktarım yönünden daha etkili ve melodik bir çalışma, 'Path of the Runes' albüm havasındaki sözsüz kısa bir geçiş, albüme ismini veren çalışma 'Sorrow of the Wind' albümdeki diğer parçalarla fazla benzerlik göstermeyen atmosferiğe sahip, albüm outroyla kapanıyor.

Sorrow of the Wind albümündeki gereksiz tekrarlar bazen insanı sıkabiliyor, albüme tamamen hakim olan rüzgar efektleri, temiz gitar tıngırtıları, flütlü kısımlar, birbirinin tekrarı niteliğinde, sadece davul biraz sıra dışı kalmış, oda projenin bir önceki albümünde çalmış yardımcı elamanı Racanon sayesinde, bazen mahalle düğünlerindeki ezgilere sahipse de gerçekten Pagan ve folk havasını birebir yaşatan bir hava sunuyor dinleyene, Aramath diğer enstrümanları da gerçekten iyi kullanmış, fakat vokal tekniği bence bu müziğine pek gitmiyor, vıraklama vari  gereksiz bir vokal parçalardaki havayı öldürüyor, parçaların uzun tutuluşu sayesinde bu gereksiz tekrarlar ve vokal biraz sıkıyor dediğim gibi, Aramath verdiği bir röportajda kısa şarkı yapmayı sevmediğini hikayeyi anlatıcak düzeyde uzunluğu seçtiğini belirtiyor, Woodtemple'ın tek kişilik bir proje olarak kalmasını ise diğer tüm proje sahipleri gibi duygularını tamamen yansıtabilmek ve diğer elamanlarla olası uyum sorununu yaşamamak için nitelendiriyor, Şayet Graveland ve Lord Wind dinliyorsanız bu albüm hoşunuza gidecektir, doğadaki atmosferiği iyi yansıtan bu albümü en azından müzikal açıdan dinlemek hiç'de zaman kaybı olmaz..

 Woodtemple - Sorrow of the Wind album review

It is a dark never happening dream. It is a confusion in unquestioned and ruined bodies. It is an effort to feel the moment. Although you know it is a dead end with all its nudity, these draggings are for what?

Found by Aramath in 1998 a Pagan metal project Woodtemple’s 4th album ‘ Sorrow of the Wind ‘ that they publish in the beginning of the year is seemed as a study having almost the same sound with other albums. There 6 songs in the album with both intro and outro. Intro, which is the beginning, is like a summary of the whole album concept. With wind and with savage bird effect in the forest, it is passed to ‘Rise the Horns Up to Battle’ song. Effects continue in the intro of this song in the same way and I especially liked the flute sections. ‘The Shields Light’ is more effective and melodic in the way of transfusion of emotions. ‘Path of the Runes’ is a wordless short transition like an album. ‘Sorrow of the Wind’ which gives its name to the album has an atmosfer that doesn’t show much resemblance to other pieces. Album ends with outro.

Unnecessary repetitions in Sorrow of the Wind album sometimes bore you. The wind effects that have the control of the album, good guitar strumings, flute sections are like the repetitions of each other. Only the drum is a little extraordinary, and it is thanks to Racanon who was the assistant of the prior album. Although it sometimes has tunes as in the district weddings, it really offers an atmosphere including Pagan and folk culture to the audience. Aramath really played well the other instruments, but I think his vocal technic doesn’t get along with this music. An unnecessary vocal like croaking of frog kills the atmosphere in pieces. As I said before these unnecessary repetitions and vocal bore you a little. In an interview, Aramath said that he doesn’t like making short songs and that they chooose the long in the level of telling the story. He tells the reason why Woodtemple is an individual project is because of reflecting his emotions like all other project owners and not living the possible harmony problem. If you listen Graveland and Lord Wind, you will likw this album. Listening this album that reflects the atmosphere in nature well at least for its musical worth is not a waste of time.
